Measuring the Value of CSR Communications
Agree with the author. There is a need for standardized CSR templates or guidance documents that can help companies formulate CSR communications. That way its easier for those who review CSR communications from different companies to compare and rate the quality of CSR communications across different companies and provide feedback. Some companies are using sources like GRI for structuring their CSR communications but it would be nice to have a standard template to minimize inconsistencies in CSR communications.

Sunny Delight Achieves Zero Waste in U.S.
That's hilarious. Anyone stop to ask them about the PRODUCT they sell to people? As in, the crap that's inside the bottle? While they are busy out waste, they continue to sell toxic crap that people ingest. Stop handing out accolades where they aren't due.

Measuring the Value of CSR Communications
This is an excellent article! I fully agree with Perry when he states "there is little or no consistent discussion or consensus around metrics specific to communicating CSR, as opposed to practicing it." I for one look forward to seeing his company SDialogue develop the metrics for measuring the effectiveness of CSR Communications. Bill McIntosh Founder, President & CEO Charity Trucks Inc.

Sustainability Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement at SAP
Hi Andre, I'm looking forward to visiting with you and other Brazilian companies later this month and can we can discuss this in further detail then, but from our standpoint at Sustainable Life Media, the future is toward transparency, and this requires a whole new set of skills focused around inviting productive conversation with stakeholders rather than managing a one way message stream. For this reason, understanding how to build these new skills is one of the most important new disciplines for the brands that will lead in the future. We invite further comment from others!

Sustainability Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement at SAP
Incorporating social media into sustainability reporting works well for SAP (as it does for many technology companies) but it doesn't necessarily works well for SAP's customers, particularly in those industries that are highly regulated or that have contentious issues with customers and society. In those cases social media usually works against the corporation, so why then corporations should invest in such solutions?

Coinstar Going After E-Waste Market
Good idea, but how will the downstream logistics be managed for data security purposes. I work in the e-waste industry, and the majors who have takeback programs have integrated a comprehensive downstream program to track logistics, data destruction, and final disposition. What are the quality checks once the used electronics have left the confines of the ecoATM and how is this progress measured to reduce fraud and identity theft?

Coinstar Going After E-Waste Market
It's great to see so much focus on the major issue of electronic waste. Not only are retailers like Best Buy stepping up, but now Coin Star has figured out a way to make this profitable and manageable without people having to manage the process. That's fantastic. There are so many great companies emerging focused on making landfills obsolete and finding better ways to manage our resources. (self promotion moment ... including my own company, RecycleMatch. Check us out at www.recyclematch.com). Anyway - kudos Coin Star. Can't wait to return some old VCRs. =) @BrookeBF from @RecycleMatch

Biodiversity Emerging as a Top Issue for Executives
It is great to see studies confirming what I see every day. More and more corporations are genuinely concerned for our environment and are making strides in environmental stewardship, even in a ruff economy. There is absolutely opportunity in leadership on environmental and social integrity. Bio-diversity along with bio-integrity (protecting the entire ecosystem) is really a moral imperative for species that puts such pressure on the natural world and is capable of understanding the consequences of our actions.

Commitment to CSR Leads to Employee Engagement
Thomas -- Thanks for reporting on this study. It reinforces the idea that employees are not just engaged/committed because of promises and investments their companies make in them, but also promises and investments in efforts that are meaningful to the world. I've been playing with the idea lately that when employees are disengaged or disengaging, it could be an early warning indicator that the organization is subtly betraying some of those more inspirational commitments and use employee responses as calls to action to keep their mission and brand "real". Thanks again!

Alcoa Wants to Bump Aluminum Can Recycling Rate to 75%
I have been crushing my cat food cans for years and taking them in. Today I took some in and they tell me that they are not ubc but, sheet. The sheet is a mush lower price. If this is the case then I will not waste my time. Most poeple put them in the trash. I also spend the time to clean them. I think they will mix them in and get the hi price anyway.I am asking becauce I can not see putting them in the trash. Thanks
