Who's Welcome at the Table?
I have unsubscribed myself from your [SB07 mailing] list. From what I can see, you're what's wrong with "sustainability" right now. Buzzwords and jargon to capture market. Based on the businesses attending and some of their horrendous practises, this all looks like nothing but junk to me. All fluff and positioning and absolutely no real value, or values.

Wow, thanks so much for your view, James, and I'm sorry you feel this way. I can 100% assure you that we are not at all interested in fluff, jargon, or buzzwords, but in helping a mainstream business audience understand how to justify doing the right thing. I can also assure you that those companies on our program have very legitimate stories to tell. We must also assume that those who are coming are coming to listen and learn.
Our goal as a company is to encourage more people to talk about their environmental and social responsibility initiatives, realizing that in today's age of transparency, companies who talk the talk, will also be compelled to learn how to better walk the walk. We recognize that for many companies it is simply not possible to turn on a dime -- that the road to sustainability is a journey more than a switch to flip on. We're here to applaud legitimate efforts to move forward, and to amplify successes and emerging best practices as we discover them. While we will not sweep problems under the rug, we leave the role of watch dog to others as we feel this important role is quite well covered.
I wish you well in your personal efforts to drive positive change, and hope you'll come to respect other's efforts to do the same. It will take all of us.
Kind regards,
KoAnn
