May 18, 2010 - Beginning in July, Tetra Pak will begin shipping three of their aseptic, fresh-food container models to customers in China bearing the label of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), furthering the company’s efforts to promote sustainable forest management in the country.

The three models available in China will be the Tetra Fino Aseptic, Tetra Prisma Aseptic and Tetra Brik Aseptic. The company expects to reach a penetration level of 2 billion units in 2010 with their FSC certified containers, and estimates that number will grow to 14 billion units sold in China in 2011.

The company first introduced cartons in the UK in 2007, and has since expanded their reach into several markets around the globe; including signing an agreement with Carrefour just last month to supply more than 100 million FSC-certified cartons to their outlets in 2010. Tetra Pak sold more than 2.3 billion certified cartons in 2009.
