Telia Cuts Carbon Emissions by 70% Through Teleworking
Oct. 3, 2007 Swedish telecommunications firm Telia says it has reduced carbon emissions by 70% since 2001 by slashing business travel, downsizing its office space, and relying on virutal conference calls and PC-based networked meetings, Cellular News reports.
Telia recently announced plans to operate its telecom and datacom networks and all other service production using 100% renewable energy, a move the company expects to cut carbon emissions by a further 20%.
