Dell Powers Global HQ with 100% Renewable Energy

April 3, 2008 - Dell is now powering its 2.1 million square-foot global headquarters in Round Rock, Texas, entirely with renewable energy. Forty percent of the campus's power needs will be provided by Waste Management’s Austin Community Landfill gas-to-energy plant, with the remaining 40% coming from wind farms operated by TXU Energy.

Dell is also more than doubling green power purchases for its Austin Parmer Campus, from 8% to 17%. The company expects that energy efficiency initiatives already implemented on its central Texas campuses will save nearly $2 million and and cut greenhouse emissions by nearly 12,000 tons each year.

Dell has pledged to make all of its company facilities carbon neutral by 2008.
