HP Joins Climate Savers, Pledges New GHG Reduction Targets
Feb. 14, 2008 - Hewlett-Packard has joined the World Wildlife Fund's Climate Savers program, which works with leading corporations to reduce their carbon footprint. At a Climate Savers summit held this week in Tokyo, Hewlett-Packard officials pledged to reduce emissions from operations and the use of its products by six million tons below 2005 levels by 2010.
In 2007, HP pledged to reduce energy use from its products and operations by 20% from 2005 levels by the end of 2010. The company reached its goal two years early, and has since upped its commitment to 25% by 2010.
