March 5, 2008 - Tea importer Teas Etc. is blown away by the success of its new green shipping option. About 75% of its customers are opting to spend the extra 25 cents to offset the carbon emissions from shipping their purchase.

"We feel that our customers have the same environmental concerns we do," says company president Beth Johnston, noting that the program's opt-in rate hit 75% within the first hour of launch.

Each quarter donated goes to Carbonfund.org, a carbon-offset provider that supports renewable resources, reforestation projects, and energy efficiency programs.
