Freescale Semiconductor Lauches Green Design Contest

Oct. 30, 2007 Freescale is inviting engineers and engineering students to create innovative, green electronic designs using elements of the companys product portfolio.

The company is launching its first worldwide Freescale Technology Forum (FTF) Design Challenge in response to increasing customer demand for greener, more energy efficient products.

Energy management and other green issues are becoming major considerations in virtually every purchase decision: consumer or corporate, says Freescale Chairman and CEO Michel Mayer. We encourage the FTF Design Challenge participants to experiment and test the boundaries in designing energy-efficient products.

At FTF China in 2006, a group of students from Shanghai Jiatong University Joint Auto Lab used Freescale technology to develop a working fuel cell vehicle.
