Google Earth Shows Energy-Efficient Buildings in 3D
Nov. 12, 2007 Google Earth has added 80 3D models of buildings included in the U.S. Department of Energy's High-Performance Buildings Database.
The models, which are housed in Google's 3D Warehouse, highlight how buildings employe energy-efficient equipment and designs. Each listing includes a description and link to the DOE database for more.
Examples include the Big Horn shopping center in Colorado, which uses extensive daylighting and natural ventilation cooling systems to lower energy demand.
