Kraft, Marks & Spencer Earn Kudos for Green Packaging

April 24, 2008 - The results are in for DuPont's annual awards recognizing innovations in green-packaging design.

Top of the list? Kraft's downsized plastic salad-dressing bottle, which use 19% less material than its predecessor. The optimized bottle design increases shipping efficiencies by 18% by allowing a greater number of bottles shipped per truckload, according to DuPont.

Marks & Spencer's biodegradable box for its assorted chocolates also got a nod. The company earned kudos for its "outstanding consumer education" on the outer box, which features instructions for proper composting at home.
