Canada's Top 10 CleanTech Companies
Oct. 29, 2007 Canada now has its own index of top-performing clean tech companies. The Cleantech 10, compiled by Corporate Knights Inc. and Cleantech Indices LLC, span a range of sectors from specialized technology to harvest flooded forests to solar electric inverters, smart grids, and floating wind turbines.
This year's Cleantech 10, announced last week at the Cleantech Forum XIV in Toronto, are:

Carmanah (Victoria, BC)
Dynetek Calgary, AB)
Hydrogenics (Mississauga, ON)
RuggedCom (Woodbridge, ON)
SunOpta (Brampton, ON)
Westport Innovations (Vancouver, BC)
WFI (Fort Wayne, IN)
Xantrex (Burnaby, BC)
Canadian companies with technologies that reduce waste, lower energy consumption, and keep greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere received a record amount of venture capital investment in the third quarter of 2007, The Star reports.
