April 1, 2008 - Hewlett-Packard's line of personal workstations has become the first in the category to achieve the coveted Gold rating from the Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT). With the addition of the workstations, HP now has the largest number of EPEAT Gold registered products in the industry.

EPEAT rates computer equipment based on environmental attributes such as energy efficiency, use of environmentally sensitive materials, and a reuse- and recycle-friendly design. Gold is the highest rating level, followed by Silver and Bronze.

All HP workstations are more than 90% recyclable by weight. Each workstation includes a power supply that is up to 15% more efficient than a standard power supply, reducing both overall energy usage and the amount of waste heat released into the environment, according to HP.
