IBM Unveils Green IT Solutions for Retailers
Jan. 14, 2008 IBM has launched a suite of green IT solutions to help retailers meet customers' increasing demand for environmentally responsible operations. The "Green Retail Store" portfolio includes point-of-sale systems, blade servers, and system management software designed to reduce energy use from the front of the store to the back office.
The new portfolio includes a point-of-sale system that can cut energy use by a third, as well as software capable of managing an entire retail IT environment from servers to point-of-sale terminals to phone systems and antivirus applications from a single back-office location.
Select IBM's green retail solutions will be on display in the IBM Green Pavilion during this week's National Retail Federation Conference in New York City. For more information, click here.
