Sept. 21, 2007 British Telecom is launching a carbon impact assessment service to calculate the CO2 emissions of corporate customers' IT operations, Computing reports.

In addition to calculating the carbon footprint of standard business operations, the appraisal will take into account staff work patterns including travel and teleworking.

BT is joining a growing list of tech companies offering carbon-consulting services. IBM recently added carbon consulting to its huge global business consulting operations as part of the company's Big Green initiative.
