MSN Latest Major Media Company to Bank on Green
Oct. 31, 2007 MSN is pooling the resources of green publishers and nonprofits to create a one-stop website for environmental news, Mediapost reports.
Partners include The Daily Green, Conservation International, Environmental Defense, Grist, TreeHugger, and StopGlobalWarming.
In addition to headlines, the site will offer visitors a set of tools to assess their personal environmental impact and offer ways to take action. Features include a carbon calculator and a "green-o-meter" lifestyle quiz.
MSN joins a growing list of major media companies seeking to attract new audiences by offering green content. Rupet Murdoch's News Corp. and NBC Universal have recently pledged to devote more print and air time to environmental issues.
