Aramark to Green Ballpark Concession Stands

March 25, 2008 - Concessions services firm Aramark is greening its operations at Major League Baseball (MLB) venues including Fenway Park and Coors Field.

Environmental initiatives include recycling glass, plastic, and cardboard waste generated during food prep, using biodegradable utensils and cups and napkins made from 100% post-consumer fiber, and recycling frying oil to be used as biodiesel fuel.

The new program will be incorporated at Citizens Bank Park, Coors Field, Fenway Park, McAfee Coliseum, Minute Maid Park, and PNC Park. The company will also collect and remove recyclables at six venues: Fenway Park, Coors Field, Minute Maid Park, PETCO Park, Safeco Field, and Turner Field.

In implementing its green program Aramark is collaborating with MLB, which recently partnered with the Natural Resources Defense Council on a league-wide environmental initiative.
