Avis Stops Printing Customer Brochures
May 19, 2008 - Avis Rent A Car says it will switch to an electronic format for customer brochures and other marketing materials in an effort to cut costs and save paper.
Avis will now make all customer information, from vehicle and policy descriptions to maps and broshures, available exclusively on its website. The company has added a new online search tool to help customers find information more quickly.
"Our customers have told us that they want to obtain this information electronically," says Becky Alseth, senior vice president of marketing for Avis Budget Group. "This presented us with the opportunity to reduce our environmental footprint, which is also very important to Avis customers."
Avis expects the move from print to electronic format will shave paper use by 100 tons a year.
