Best Buy Wants Your Old Electronics
June 2, 2008 - Best Buy is piloting a free electronics recycling program in 117 U.S. stores. Consumers in Baltimore, San Francisco, and Minnesota are being encouraged to bring in their old TV, computers, cellphones, cameras, and other electronic devices for recycling. The program also accepts some household appliances, such as microwaves and air conditioners.
Best Buy says it will evaluate the success of the pilot to determine options for expanding the program to other U.S. markets.
