GE Helps Business Customers Cut Fleet Fuel Costs 15%

June 13, 2008 - GE has unveiled a new fleet solutions service that it says can help business customers reduce average fuel costs by 15%, saving up to $15,000 per vehicle.

The new Environmental Performance program, offered by GE Capital Solutions Fleet Services, is one of the first services to be included in GE's Ecomagination suite of environmental offerings.

Under the program, GE audits clients' fleet management practices including total distance driven, fuel use, drive time, carbon emissions, and vehicle speed and idle time. GE then helps fleet managers optimize existing routes to improve workforce productivity and cut fuel costs and carbon emissions. Clients also receive guidance on buying or leasing fuel-efficient vehicles.

"GE understands what businesses are up against today dealing with crude oil, gasoline and diesel increases," says Bob Mitchell, CEO of GE Capital Solutions Fleet Services. "We also help them...proactively get out in front of legislation aimed at stabilizing CO2 emissions. It is welcomed relief for business fleet operations that are under tremendous pressure."
