JohnsonDiversey Helps Customers Save 1 Billion Gallons of Water

June 19, 2008 – Cleaning-systems giant JohnsonDiversey helped food and beverage customers save more than a billion gallons of water last year thanks to its water management program, according to the company’s latest sustainability report.

The report details how the company’s water management consulting and systems enabled beverage makers to reduce water use while also improving overall resource and operational efficiency. The water-saving program includes a three-step audit process to measure and analyze water use patterns throughout the entire production facility or bottling site.

"We're excited to see how our long-term commitment to sustainability is also helping our customers improve their sustainability profile," says JohnsonDiversey chairman S. Curtis Johnson. "Our products…preserve the environment by reducing use of water, energy, and packaging and help our customers enhance their profitability by reducing costs."

With water scarcity a growing concern, business-solutions firms are keen to offer effective water-saving services for their customers. For example, General Electric, which is providing environmental products through its highly successful Ecomagination program, has made water management a key focus. GE has committed to using Ecomagination products to slash its own fresh water use 20% by 2012.
