KLD Climate Index Outperforms S&P
July 25, 2008 - KLD's Global Climate 100 Index (GC100), comprised of companies on the forefront of clean tech, renewable energy, and energy efficiency, has consistently outperformed the S&P/Citigroup BMI World Index since its launch three years ago.
The GC100 includes companies who make "smart" electric meters and superconductors, as well as alternative energy stocks.
Year-on-year comparisons between the GC100 and S&P indices are as follows:

"Over the past three years, we've witnessed formation of a scientific, public policy and business consensus on the need to combat global climate change," says Thomas Kuh, managing director of KLD Indexes. "If our economy must depend less on fossil fuels, then our portfolios must do the same."
