SAS Unveils Software to Help Companies Innovate for Sustainability
May 1, 2008 - Business analytics firm SAS has launched a new software platform to help companies cut costs and identify new markets for their products through eco-innovation.
SAS for Sustainability Management tracks companies' performance across a range of indicators, including climate impact. The software package uses the Global Reporting Initiative framework to measure and report on environmental, social, and economic performance. Data analysis functions identify key metrics and enable companies to model various scenarios before making strategic decisions.
"Lessening our impact on the environment and mitigating the future risk of depleting our planet's natural resources is becoming a priority in shaping every organization's strategy," says SAS CEO Jim Goodnight. "With SAS, organizations can optimize business strategies for minimizing risks and costs, developing new lines of business, and improving resource use, environmental or otherwise."
