Corporate Climate Reporters Rallying Around GHG Protocol

Under increasing pressure to report on climate management practices, more companies are turning to a standardized framework for publishing emissions data. Well over half (63%) of Fortune 500 corporate responsibility reports released last year align their climate communications with guidelines set out by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, according to a new study from CorporateRegister.com. GlaxoSmithKline Targets Climate Emissions from Patients' Inhalers
Pharmaceuticals giant GlaxoSmithKline has its work cut out to meet its stated goal of reducing greenhouse emissions 20% below 2006 levels by 2010. A full 66% of its emissions come from inhalers - the use of which continues to climb, according to the company's just-released 2007 corporate responsibility report. Read more...

While it's great to see so many companies embracing sustainability reporting, most aren't giving us the whole picture, says Mark McElroy, founder of the Center for Sustainable Innovation (CSI).
