Coke's New Marketing Campaign Aims to Redefine Corporate Sustainability

Coca-Cola is launching a $10 million marketing campaign that goes beyond corporate environmental responsibility, instead focusing on the idea of "sustainable well-being." The new campaign, originally conceived as a health and wellness push, was expanded to include environmental and social dimensions after consumers expressed growing interest in the company's sustainability efforts. GM Exec Unapologetic About Calling Climate Change a "Crock"
General Motors vice chairman Bob Lutz is doing damage control - sort of - after declaring his personal opinion that "global warming is a total crock of s--t." Lutz made the statement during a closed-door meeting with journalists in January, saying that "I'm a skeptic, not a denier. Having said that, my opinion doesn’t matter. I’m motivated [to develop fuel-efficient models like the Chevy Volt] more by the desire to replace imported oil than by the CO2.” Read more...

95% of Young Consumers "Concerned" About Global Warming
Ninety-five percent of children ages 4 to 15 are "concerned" about climate change, and more than half are "very concerned," according to a Nickelodeon U.K. survey. GM Hybrid SUVs Take on Prius in Battle to Green the Red Carpet
General Motors turned the 80th Academy Awards into a showcase for its line of hybrid SUVs, ferrying about 75 Hollywood stars to the ceremony in ethanol-, hybrid- , or fuel cell-powered vehicles, Reuters reports. The maker of the hybrid Chevy Tahoe - named 2007's "Green Car of the Year" - is hoping the high-profile event will help boost its green reputation in a town known for devotion to the Toyota Prius. Sony Europe has unveiled a broad communications platform geared toward educating consumers on the company's environmental credentials. Dubbed "Product, Process, Planet," the program will highlight measures Sony has taken to reduce the environmental impact of its products at all stages of life, from manufacturing to consumer use.
