Canon Introduces Green Brand, Greener Product Packaging
Jan. 8, 2008 - Office products manufacturer Canon USA will be selling its environmentally preferable printers under a new brand name. The company's PIXMA, SELPHY, and imageCLASS printer products, now to be marketed under the label "Generation Green," feature energy- and paper-saving technologies and will be shipped in resource-efficient packaging.
As part of the initiative, Canon has introduced new biodegradable limestone packaging for select ink packs. The company currently ships its toner cartridges in air-cushion packaging, which the company says saves money by reducing product size and weight.
Generation Green[enables] partners and customers to easily identify products that are energy and environmentally efficient," says Yuichi Ishizuka, senior vice president and general manager of Canon's consumer imaging group.
Generation Green is divided into three product categories: Eco-Conscious, Eco-Standards, and Eco-Friendly. For more details, click here.
