D-Link Expands Line of Energy-Efficient Ethernet Switches

Feb. 26, 2008 - Networking gear manufacturer D-Link has expanded its line of energy-efficient ethernet switches for small- and medium-sized businesses, InfoWorld's Sustainable IT blog reports. Instead of taking a one-size-fits-all approach to power supply, the switches adjust power use depending on cable length (typically less than 20 meters for most smaller enterprises).

Models with 5 and 8 ports have been available since last year; this year D-Link has added 16- and 24-port models. All of D-Link's Green Ethernet switches comply with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) standards.
