JohnsonDiversey Unveils Water-Saving Floor Cleaning System
Sept. 9, 2008 - JohnsonDiversey says its new industrial floor-finishing system can help building maintenance companies slash waste and water use.
The new floor-finishing system, called ProSpeed, has helped customers save more than 71,000 gallons and reduce floor-finishing waste by over 8,000 gallons since its introduction in North America in June, according to JohnsonDiversey.
"The ProSpeed system requires no water for cleanup, compared to traditional mop-and-bucket and backpack methods which can typically use three to four gallons of water for cleanup," says Larinda Becker, vice president of sector and product marketing, JohnsonDiversey North America.
The company also claims that the closed bag-in-a-box (BIB) system reduces air pollution. Because of the contained unit, users do not need to transfer chemicals from the original packaging to secondary buckets, thereby reducing the amount of volatile organic compounds emitted into the air.
JohnsonDiversey has been on a fast track to reducing water use and emissions with their products recently. The company has removed all air-polluting ingredients from its Signature floor care line two full years ahead of the deadline set by the California Air Resources Board. Through its water management consulting services the company has also been able to help customers save over a billion gallons of water last year.
