Health Care Purchasers Get Green Magazine
Dec. 14, 2007 Slated to debut in May, EverGreen will be the first trade publication to focus exclusively on green procurement in the healthcare field. The bi-monthly magazine is already reporting a subscriber list of 50,000, making it the industry's third largest publication.
EverGreen will cover a range of environmental issues, from green building and waste reduction to healthy chemical policies and sustainable foods. Regular features include industry news and facility profiles as well as articles on healthcare recycling efforts, the impact of chemical use in healthcare environments, and changing environmental regulations affecting the healthcare industry.
Potential cost savings from green sourcing programs is a primary editorial focus, according to Consorta, the magazine's publisher. The magazine will also include a special section on new products and services.
"Healthcare purchasing habits are changing, and policies and processes are changing as executives prove their commitment to environmental issues," says John W. Strong, president and CEO of Consorta. "EverGreen magazine will be an important resource to the healthcare industry for information and news regarding environmentally preferred purchasing."
Representatives from the nonprofits Healthcare Without Harm and Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E) will serve on the magazine's Editorial Advisory Board.
